Product Details
Penumbral is an opulent semi-circular shawl designed to play with colour. It begins with a wavy fan & chevron yoke which expands out to form petals edged with mesh. These flow into a section of mosaic with slipped stitch cables floating over the top, leading into the textured lace edge.
The shawl was designed for playing with speckled yarn, using a solid or semi solid for contrast. The pattern suits fingering weight yarn, ideally a solid colour and a complementary variegated, and can be worked in either 2 or 3 colours, in a variety of ways.
Suits approx 800m of fingering weight yarn, with the last section generally using a fraction more than 400m. For a larger shawl, try sport weight yarn. This pattern is charted only, with accompanying written notes.
