Product Details
The Petoskey Stone is Michigan’s State Stone. Roughly translated the word Petoskey means “sunbeams of promise “and its roots stem from at Ottawa Indian legend. The Petoskey Stone is actually fossilized coral . If you’ve never been to Petoskey, Michigan I encourage you to take the trip! These socks roughly mimic the colors in the stone and I used many of Nancy Bush’s techniques from Folk Knitting in Estonia.. This is the third of my “Michiganisms" socks. Knit from cuff to toe the Louet Gems brings the patterns to life! The Windowpane heel seemed perfect for these as well. What is your state stone?
Knit from cuff to toe with fingering weight yarn they are a little bit spicier than some of my other socks but well worth the knit!
Thank you for looking at my design.
Must knit now,
Phyll
