Product Details

Ventura Pier in California, built in 1872, was the inspiration for this one-piece sweater wrap. Horizontal color bands drape the fronts and flow free like the ocean breeze over the planks and piles. It features the following delightful details: bell sleeves, clever uses of I-cord to finish the edges as you knit, and grafting to minimize finishing to only two seams. It can be draped open or worn with simple loop and button closures.

Pattern Notes This garment starts with a provisional cast on (JMCO) for 3 stitches, and a strip of I-cord. Fronts and Back are picked up from edges of the I-cord and worked together with the edges to the armhole. Fronts are then placed on waste yarn while the sleeves are shaped and worked with the back up to the neck. Neck stitches are bound off in I-cord, then new strands of I-cord are created to form the upper fronts, which are worked along with the sleeve fronts then grafted to the held stitches.

Notes
The sample used clear glass buttons to be functional and less noticeable. These can also be omitted if you don't intend to close the sweater.
