Product Details

Based on the vintage Ascot/Miss Marple style scarf, this adult size short scarf features a leaf secured by a button tab fastening, over which you can add interchangeable poppies.

It measures approx 70cm long and it 22/23cm wide. Gauge is not important for this item.

The scarf is knitted in one piece, on 3.25mm and 4.5mm needles.

Using the same size needles, the poppy is constructed from 4 petals which are knitted straight and then joined to create the buttonhole.

Scarf requires approx 60g/200m in green (shown in both King Cole Big Value Tweed DK/8ply - Dill, and Stylecraft Highland Heathers DK/8ply - Moss)

Poppy requires 10g/30m in main colour and 4/5m in black DK/8ply (shown in Emu Classic DK/8ply - Pepper Red, and Stylecraft Highland Heathers DK/8ply - Thistle)

You will also need a 22mm button (I used a neutral shell button), and tapestry needle for sewing up.

Easy to download the pattern. Very easy to follow if you have the knowledge of basic knitting skills ie knit and purl stitches. Very pleased how the design turned out

This is such a lovely scarf, I have made it for Remembrance Sunday. I love the design and how I can change the colour poppy to represent the animals and civilians harmed during the war as well as the service personnel. The pattern is very easy to follow. Thank you.
