Portofino is an elegant poncho which can also be worn as a shawl. Two beautiful lace patterns are worked on the bias in two different colours (or work it all in one colour if preferred).
Materials: Lang Merino 200 Bebe (4ply; 100% Merino Wool; 203m/222yds per 50g) x 2 (3) balls each of shade 319 (C1) and 347 (C2)
4mm (UK 8/US 6) circular needle, 80cm (32in) length
Eight buttons (2.5cm/1in)
Difficulty level: Easy/Intermediate
Size: Size 1 (2). Width (relaxed after blocking): 47 (68)cm/18½ (26½) in For Length and blocking dimensions see diagram on page 3. Note: blocking dimensions allow for significant width reduction when the shawl relaxes after blocking.
Tension: 18.5 sts and 21.5 rows over 10cm/4in in Chart A blocking dimensions. 20 sts and 21.5 rows over 10cm/4in in Chart A relaxed after blocking. Exact tension is not essential but a difference in tension may affect the final size and amount of yarn used.
