What you'll need
Product Details
The shawl starts with the cables-and-lace edging, which is worked back and forth. Then stitches are picked up along the side of the edging and short rows are used to create the body of the shawl. Finally, a two-stitch modified I-cord bind off finishes the top edge.
To knit this pattern, you will need to know how to do the following skills, stitches, and techniques: provisional cast on (any method);b asic cable and lace stitches worked from a chart or written directions; slipped stitches; basic decreases (k2tog, ssk, CDD); m1 increases; short rows using wrap and turn (note: wraps do not need to be picked up on subsequent rows)
The edging is both charted and written.
The sample shown used every last bit of the recommended yarn. Even slight differences in gauge will affect the amount of yarn used as well as the finished dimensions. Please be sure you have enough yarn to finish your project; if in doubt, have extra yarn on hand.
This pattern has been professionally tech edited.
