REGROWTH is a top-down triangular lace shawl with some Estonian lace sections. It has been inspired by five different lace patterns - Elizabeth Freeman's Laminaria, Jenny Johnson Johnen's Echo Flowers, Katrin Vorbeck's Spring Leaves, Toni Maddox's Tiger Eyes, and Lakshmi Juneja's Ethereal.
The prototype shawl was knit in homespun light fingering yarn, and used approximately 1600 yards. It's quite large, at about 6' by 4'. It would be possible to make a smaller shawl using fewer pattern repeats; instructions for this are included in the pattern. You could also use a smaller needle size. But, the pattern is built to incorporate five different lace motifs, and some of the repeats are quite long and wide, so it will always be a larger shawl. A minimum-repeats version blocks out to just over 2' in depth (past elbow-length on a small-to-average person).
