Product Details
On Christmas Day when my family sit down to our Christmas dinner, we pull some crackers. A Christmas tradition, crackers are basically cardboard tubes which contain a snap banger to make the CRACK noise when pulled apart. In the tube is usually a corny joke, a plastic toy, and a colourful paper crown hat. For the seconds of fun that we got from our crackers last Christmas, we also created a wasteful pile of discarded paper and plastic. So I thought I would knit our family crackers and hats, so we can use them year after year instead. This Cracker Hat is easy to knit in garter stitch with a slipped stitch edge. You can resize your hat by knitting fewer/more crown points to fit your family members. The hat is knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight single-pointed knitting needles, and you will need to know how to cast on and off, knit, increase and decrease.
