Product Details
Inspired by nature’s landscapes, the varying shades of Felted Tweed Colour are truly captivating to knit and crochet. From subtle moorland russets and browns, to vibrant sunset pinks and fresh, grassy greens, the tweedy hues gradually evolve along the fibers at a gentle and unhurried pace. A stunning fair isle effect is created by simply working with two shades, while the perfect combination of 50% lightly-felted wool, 25% viscose and 25% alpaca makes this yarn equally ideal for delicate lace and sumptuous cables.

Although I bought this I’m afraid it was returned back to Lovecrafts. The colour which was variegated was nowhere near the image shown on the website. I have used other Rowan felted tweed previously and been extremely pleased with the wool but not on this occasion.
I have been a fan of Rowan Felted Tweed for at least 15 years now and have used it for more than a dozen projects (jumpers and cardigans, shawls and even a pair of wrist warmers) . When Rowan introduced their Felted Tweed Colour I was super excited! The colours are gorgeous - quite subtle and heathered (like the original Felted Tweed) and I am in love with most of them! I have recently finished a triangular garter shawl with 3 balls in the green colourway and on 4mm needles. It is a tiny bit itchy (so may not be suitable for everybody or at least not next to skin) but the colours, texture and weight of the shawl are just perfect! I am already planning a waistcoat in a different colour!
Beautiful bright colors!
