What you'll need
Product Details
Light and airy, with a band of kid mohair so soft to the touch, this design is perfect for breezy spring/summer days. Inspired by the saltmarsh tidal flats of the Bay of Fundy (Chignecto Bay), channels of blue water irrigate the dyked, lush-green marshland.
The triangle-shaped shawl is knit top down, with increases on every RS row worked at the edges and on each side of the centre stitch. The shawl begins with a tab cast-on. Three lace patterns -“saltmarsh”, “flora” and “tidewater” - comprise the overall design. The pattern includes complete row-by-row instructions with stitch counts, and accompanying charts.
Gauge - 26 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm/4 in in patt st 1 using a 3.5 mm (US 4) needle. Swatch and use the needles that give you the tension and drape you like.
Finished Dimensions (blocked): depth at centre - 81 cm/32 in; wingspan - 165 cm/65 in.
Techniques used - tab cast-on, read a lace chart (optional), loose bind-off.
