Product Details
The name SAMARAMA in my language means ‘only the frame and nothing else’ and I chose it deliberately, as my main and only concern while designing this shawl was to create an interesting way to join the diamonds. In other way, to create a frame for them.
Samarama is a bottom-up shawl, you start with casting on just 3 stitches and then build up the volume.
You choose how big the shawl should be. Sizing is totally adaptable, the shawl can be continued until the yarn ends.
You choose what yarn to use – from lace to DK weight. Make sure to choose yarn that blocks well, otherwise your effort will be lost.
Gauge and needles are not specified in the pattern, they depend on the yarn you choose. You can either knit loosely / with bigger size needles to make the shawl more lacy or knit tightly / smaller size needles to make the diamonds stand out.
You can choose nupps or beads, whichever you prefer.
