Product Details
For **VERY **experienced knitters.
This bookmark is knitted combining the techniques of traditional Sanquhar knitting with double knitting. Initials have been included as these are usually incorporated somewhere into the Sanquhar pattern. Sanquhar knitting is traditionally worked using black and white yarns.
The Sanquhar patterns used in this bookmark are: Top pattern - Rose. Centre two patterns make up the Glendyne pattern. Bottom pattern – Drum.
The pattern is both written AND charted to Row 59 (just before initials), after this the pattern is charted only, as it would be impossible to give instructions for every combination of initials.
The bookmark may be finished before the initials are added if you do not wish to work non-reversible double knitting.
Charts are included for both sides of the double knitting pattern and all 26 initials (both right way round and reversed.)
Gauge: 4 sts or 4 rows = ¼-inch /3 sts or 3 rows = 0.5 cm.
