Product Details
Though theoretically a scarf, the subtle angling along the edges of the border makes this almost a shawlette. Inspired by Katherine Matthews' knit designs, the design pairs a traditionally crocheted border with a Tunisian simple-stitch-and-purl body.
The border is worked first; afterward, the body is picked up in Tunisian crochet row by row.
I used String Theory Caper Sock, which offers the perfect combination of stitch definition and graceful movement. One 100 gram skein of this or your favourite fingering-weight yarn makes a generous scarf.
Additional gauge information: 16 dc in row 5 of border and 4 rows of border = 3", blocked.
