I love patchwork quilts, the designs are inspiring and many can used successfully as designs for crochet throws and blankets. The seascape throw is based on a log cabin patchwork throw. It’s a simple pattern to make and grows quickly.
To make the pattern more interesting to work and to add texture, I’ve used front and back post trebles (double crochet). The pattern included full instructions on how to make the stitches.
The throw uses a DK (light worsted) yarn. I used Stylecraft recreate, a recycled acrylic yarn. It’s a lovely yarn to work with and not too heavy. You could use any DK yarn, just make sure your tension is right!
I kept it simple by using only 5 subtle colours which I think gives the finished throw a more sophisticated look. The yarn quantities are enough to make the matching cushion, which is included in the pattern.
Finished size is 100cm x 136cm. Crochet hook 3.50mm
