What you'll need
Product Details
Seaswell is a stripy triangular shawl inspired by the sea. Its wave-patterned border is adapted from a Victorian stitch pattern known variously as ‘shell pattern’ or ‘fan pattern’. I have substituted simple kfb increases instead of yarn-overs for a less lacy look, and included double-decreases to sharpen the crests of the ‘waves’. Put this stitch together with narrow stripes, and you have a shawl that looks great on both sides.
Materials: One skein of each colour of ‘Riveting Sport’ by Kollage Yarns. I used ‘Pebble Denim’ (sandy beige), for colour A, and ‘Night Denim’ (mid blue) for colour B. If you are a loose knitter or want to knit a larger shawl, you may need an extra skein of colour A. If substituting yarn, you will need approximately 350 yards of colour A and 260 yards of colour B in a sport-weight or fingering-weight yarn.
Both charted and written instructions are included. Pattern is for personal use only.
