An interesting colour effect in illusion knitting.
One photograph shows what appear to be two identical cushions/wall-hangings. Look at them from a different angle and you will see that one has squares and the other has diagonal stripes.
It is easy to see the difference where strong colours are used but not quite so easy when the colours are more subtle.
I used Stylecraft Special DK. Illusions wok with any yarn but using a thicker, or thinner, yan might make your piece bigger or smaller.
The pattern has instructions for both cushions and also includes information about using the same methods to make an afghan.
Warning: These cushions are more difficult to make than our seemingly complex illusion pictures. You must be used to handling several balls of yarn in the same way that you would work intarsia.

- You can use any brand and thickness of yarn in two contrasting colours. Use needles slightly thinner than usually recommended for your chosen yarn.
