Shambala is my first shawl design since taking on the task of live-in care for my grandmother who has dementia. Knitting away on this shawl design became my own little piece of solace on particularly rough days. Shambala is a top-down crescent-shaped shawl that features rhythmic brioche, engaging lace, relaxing eyelets, and an addictively simple applied lace bind-off.
Worked flat, Shambala contains written directions, charts, and is broken down into comprehensive sections. The pattern includes detailed instructions for the techniques used and a handy-dandy progress tracker to help you keep track of your row and stitch counts.
Shambala was named by the talented dyer behind this pattern, Shelly, of Log House Cottage. It’s one of her favorite Three Dog Night songs!
