Product Details
An individual pattern from The Shetland Trader-Book One, a collection of 10 patterns inspired by the Shetland Islands from designer Gudrun Johnston with photography by Jared Flood.
Simple pairings are often the best. In this scarf a well-known and easy Shetland Lace, Horseshoe Lace, is worked with a chunky yarn to produce a cosy piece of knitting to be wrapped as desired.
The scarf is knit in two halves, which are then grafted together, allowing the lace to form a mirror image. The sample was knit in Quince & Co. Puffin. A substitute yarn is shown below.
"Shoormal" is the high tide line in Shetland.
