Product Details
I designed this lovely shawl for my cousin, Lynne. We are first cousins and we just found each other in our 60s! Our dads were brothers. She loves the water, so the shawl has the motion of the little waves along the beach or shore represented by the beadwork and lace section of the wide lace section of this crescent shaped shawl. The beadwork is simple and optional.
I worked the shawl in creamy white fingering weigh superwash wool. Any fingering weight will work. It would also be pretty in bright colors! This would make a gorgeous wedding shawl!
I added a cyanotype technique dye to the finished shawl. It changed the feeling of the shawl, adding the cyanotype color and starfish shapes. It’s more serene if left white. The cyanotype is optional.
Complete directions for working from the easy-to-read chart, adding the beads, working with wraps and turns, and dyeing with the cyanotype is included. I am always available to answer any questions through email. My email is included on the pattern.
