Product Details
Inspired by these beautiful yarns, the pattern of this jacket combines bands of the multitoned Artesano Linen Silk DK, with Fair Isle designs using two solid shades of Alpaca Silk 4ply, worked double to match the weight of the DK. Both yarns are discontinued but try loveknitting or yarnsub for possible alternatives. Try to use a multi-tonal yarn like Noro Silk Garden Lite to replace the Linen Silk to get the same effect and the two 4ply solid shades could be substituted with DK weight or try Cascade Yarns Sonata 4ply used double. Do remember to check your tension with a swatch. The jacket is knitted sideways starting with the left front, followed by the back and ending at the right front edge. The sleeves have a slightly raised cap and are set in to the body. A band, or epaulet is added over each shoulder seam and finally the front band, welt and cuffs are added by picking up stitches.
