I created this hat pattern for a friend who feels the cold! The chunky merino yarn is super soft and cozy and the pom pom gives a pop of color. The hat is knit entirely in the round using a 2x2 tubular cast on for the 2x2 rib edge and stockinette stitch with simple decreases for the body of the hat. It would suit an adventurous beginner. Knits up very quickly.

- I suggest using a small size cable circular needle (16 inch), for the rib and main body of the hat and then switching to DPNs for the decreases.
