I love a good oxymoron! The name Simple Convolution is this, as is the pattern; a hat that looks complex, but is surprisingly simple.
CONSTRUCTION Simple Convolution is worked from the brim to crown, in the round. The ribbed brim transitions to an all-over cable rib pattern. The fairly rapid crown decreases are worked without incorporating the cable pattern. The pattern is written for 5ply/sport weight yarn, and is sized to fit the whole family (small newborn to adult). Also included in the pattern is a guide how to knit the pattern in other yarn weights. GAUGE 26sts and 35 rows/10cm on 3.5mm needles (in stocking stitch, blocked).
