Product Details

The Alberta Snowy White Owl is a majestic bird that is often seen sitting on the fence posts as we drive down the rural roads in our province. Seeking mice or other small prey for her meal, she is ever vigilant and her bright yellow eyes shine brightly night and day.
When she is immature she is a pure white color but as she matures she takes on more grey-black feathers to blend in to her surroundings.
Her ears are not visible in her full plumage on her head and she has large talons for grasping her prey.
This is meant to be a realistic version of the owl. Instructions are given to construct her massive wings, her talons, her eyes and even her mouse.
The pattern is a relatively easy knit but you will be knitting in two yarns held together. Thus it is bulky and one of the yarns is Foxy so that does add bulk. However, when she is done, she is magnificent and well worth the effort.
Place her on the mantel or give her to the grandchildren, she is a part of the wildlife in Alberta.
