Product Details

Originally designed as part of 3 Kittens Needle Arts’ S.O.B. Mystery Box 2021. S.O.B. stands for [Spunky Old Broads][1]. But for this scarf S.O.B. could also stand for Scrappy Old Bits, because you can use up lots of bits and pieces of fingering weight yarn in this scarf (as I did in the photographed sample).

The pattern calls for fingering weight yarn: one full-size skein (approx 400 yards) for the MC, and 25gram mini-hanks (approx 100 yards each) of nine contrasting colors. However, you could use less contrasting colors - just keep in mind that you will need 700-900 total yards for the 81” long scarf.

The chevron pattern (or ripple pattern) is easy to learn. I have added notes on how to modify for a wider scarf or to use less colors.

Hook size: US H/5.0mm

Please do a gauge swatch! I cannot guarantee you will have enough yarn if you don’t do one.

Uses American crochet terminology.
