Meet our absolutely adorable Squirrel with Acorn. He's cute, cuddly, very lovable and just waiting to hide his acorn in your house.
This Squirrel is suitable for intermediate level knitters and assumes an understanding of basic stitches, short rows and standard knitting terms. Our Squirrel is knit flat and sewn together using a mattress stitch.
You will need approximately 75 m of medium weight grey or brown yarn for the body and 15 m of cream coloured medium weight yarn for the belly. The acorn can be knit with any ends of yarn you might have hanging around. With this yarn, use 4 mm (US size 6) needles. You will also need a small amount of yarn for embroidering the face, stuffing (we use polyfil or woll) and a tapestry needle to sew your squirrel together. This will let you create a squirrel that's approximately 14 cm (5 inches) in length.
