Product Details
Stillwell is knit in two sections. First, a long lace border is worked, then stitches are picked up along the straight edge of the border to work the garter stitch body. The shawl body is attached to the picked up border stitches at the end of every wrong side row. You will be “eating” two stitches from the border for every one WS row worked. The shawl is knit in a traditional boomerang shape: every right side row increases by one stitch at the beginning of the row and decreases by one stitch at the end of the row, and every wrong side row increases by one stitch at the end of the row. It is much easier to work lace stitches if you have needles with sharp tips.
