Product Details
A gender neutral baby bonnet pattern for a beginner knitter. As long as you can cast on, cast off, knit, purl and work simple decreases, you can make this bonnet. The pattern contains video links showing you how to knit the ties and finish your bonnet.
Sizes: 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-2 years, 3-5 years
Yarn: Any DK weight
Needles: 3.25 mm and 4 mm straight needles, two 3.25 mm double pointed needles for the ties
Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows to a 10 cm (4") square over stocking stitch
Overview: You cast on at the brim of the bonnet and work a short section of 1x1 rib, followed by stocking stitch (stockinette) with an integral garter stitch border at the neck edge. These are both knit flat on straight needles. At the start of the crown shaping you can choose to either continue flat or work in the round from this point. I-cord ties are knit at each side of the brim for the bonnet ties.
