Sweet Peas includes two accessories for your little girl: a tam and a matching cowl. The hat is worked seamlessly in the round starting at the band and requires minimal finishing. The stitch pattern elements used in the hat design echo the look of the stitch patterns used in the cowl design.
The main part of the cowl is worked sideways, then the ends of the knitted piece are grafted together to make a seamless loop. The bands are knitted on in the round from picked up stitches. This creates the A-line shape of the cowl to both hug the neck and stay comfortably over the shoulders if worn as capelet to keep the chill at bay. As an added bonus, this accessory is completely reversible. The cowl’s stitch patterns look different, but equally attractive, on both sides of the fabric, so you will never have to worry about it being worn wrong side out.
