Product Details
These beautiful mitts use a combination of brioche increases, decreases and syncopation to create the branching leaves. This leaf motif was originally developed for the Sylvan Tales Shawl, but since I'm a bit obsessed with these leaves I wanted to make some matching accessories! The mitts are knit in-the-round and from the bottom-up.
Pattern includes written instructions, charts, and links to video demonstrations.
The mitts should be worn with 0.5-1.25 in/1.25-3 cm of negative ease.
Sample was knit with two colors in a fingering weight yarn 400 yards/366 meters/115 grams. A similar fingering or sport weight yarn should work.
Skills needed: knitting, purling; brioche stitches including brk, brp, sl1yo; brioche increases and decreases including brkyobrk, brpyobrp, br4st inc, brLsl dec OR brLsl Uw dec, brRsl dec, brpLsl dec, brpRsl dec; provisional cast-on (optional), three-needle join (optional), Kitchener stitch (optional)
Pattern calls for two contrasting shades of yarn for this project.
