Product Details
Not to be mistaken with Halloween, Teru Teru Bōzu ( てるてる ぼうず ) is a weather charm meant for when one wishes for sunny days. Part of an old Japanese tradition, children especially, would hang these charms while singing an accompanying song (similar to ‘Rain, Rain, Go Away’) when they wish for sunny days ahead of special school events.
Although usually made from white, square handkerchiefs or tissue papers (sadly, to be thrown away once wishes are granted), these reimagined versions of the charms are made to be keepsakes, given as kawaii presents or for cuddling with even. Just be careful not to hang it upside down unless you wish for it to rain the next day!
Also suitable for beginners who wish to go further with their skills - simple knitting patterns to work with, accompanied by pictorial guides on making it up.
DISCLAIMER : The suggested yarn would be the closest match to the yarn used in this project. It is advisable to always knit a gauge swatch first before you begin your project.
