Product Details
’The Gambler’ is a casual sweater perfect for colder months. It is knitted in all over diamond pattern in worsted weight yarn and with minimal shaping. Body is worked bottom-up and in the round up to the armholes, then the work is split and front and back are worked flat. Stitches for sleeves are picked up around armholes and knit in the round.
Techniques used:
- tubular cast on and cast off
- German short rows
both of which can be substituted.
Yarn used: Woolfolk FÅR, sample shown in colour ‘Snow’. A suggested substitute is below.
The instructions are written and the diamond pattern is also charted. There are two option of neck treatment: turtle neck and crew neck.
’The Gambler’ is fairly easy to make and can be tackled by any knitter who started venture into garment making. If any of the techniques is too daunting, it can be substituted. Even short rows used for shoulder shaping can be omitted and the traditional method of casting off in steps to get the slanting shoulder can be applied.
