I wanted to create a design which would allow me to use up some of the 3 ply yarn I had in my stash, I've made plenty of projects in aran and DK but nothing was really grabbing me for such delicate yarn. I had been trying out a few edging techniques, when I came up with the idea of repeating the tube edge into a ripple effect, I felt this was the perfect way to create something lovely and warm to wear from something so light weight. The resulting cowl is wonderfully soft and cosy and the ripple texture is very pleasing. It's an easy knit, and as it's so simple can be easily adapted to other sizes.
Cowls are the perfect cold weather accessory, they fit neatly with any jacket and coat, without all the bulkiness and untidiness of a scarf.

- Notes
- I've used both handspun Alpaca yarn and a cashmere blend trying out this pattern, it works well with any lightweight yarn that drapes well.
