Product Details
This is a knit wrap (shawl) pattern that features two stitches that come to us from Japan, as well as one Shetland border stitch. The focal stitch is an intricate cable lace stitch that makes quite a statement. The side cable is a small one that is more common in Japanese style knitting. The border stitch is also unique and is a “true” lace. Combined, they make a one of a kind shawl, quickly becoming an heirloom.
Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of cable-lace knitting).
The three stitches are both charted and written out line by line, but it’s always wise to be able to refer to the chart.
There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.
Any heavy fingering weight or light sport weight yarn will work with this pattern. The sample was made using Lorna's Laces Sportmate yarn.
No crochet hooks are needed if you do not wish to edge the shawl.
