Through our lives, we transition from one place to another. We go from bright, colourful, bold moments, to darker, grey skies and then we go back to full colour. While designing this shawl, I wanted to represent those transitions through the yarns, I wanted something meditative, no complicated stitches, nothing to think about but knit and purl, and get into that zone where your mind can wonder and you can reflect on what you are going through. I hope working on this shawl brings you joy.
The shawl is a ¾ square shape, which is perfect to drape around your shoulders while covering your back. I think this is one of my favourite shapes because it won’t slip off your arms, and it is big enough to keep you warm and cosy during the coming winter months.
This shawl uses 4 different colours; I suggest using two neutral contrasting colored yarns, a speckled yarn and a semi solid or contrasting yarn so you can see the color work throughout your project.
