Product Details

The design on the front of the cushion cover is based on the Tudor Rose. Its origins date back to the War of the Roses. The red rose representing the House of Lancaster and the white the House of York. When Henry Tudor took the crown, and became Henry VII, he ended the war and the Tudor Rose, a conjoining of the two flowers, was created. It subsequently became a national emblem for England.

Worked in stocking stitch the cover requires 1 x 50 gm ball. It is knitted in one piece starting with a small band of rib, stocking stitch for the main section, and finishing with another band of rib.

Each section of the Tudor Rose is knitted separately using approximately 25 gm of red and green yarn, and a 2 metre oddment of yellow. The construction of each element is explained in the pattern leaflet and the position of the flower on the cover is shown in diagram form as an aid to completion.

To make up the side seams are joined together.
