The hoopskirt knitting stitch used in the scarf reminded me of Tutus and Ballerinas. So I used Pink Panther yarn for the rows that would create the skirt and white for the rows that would resemble the bodies of the dancers. Of course any color combination would work well. In order for the ends to look the same, the scarf is knit in 2 halves joined in the middle with Kitchner stitches. An internet address to a great Kitchener tutorial on knitty.com is included in the pattern. The pattern is a bit tricky in that there are double yarn overs and at one time purling together 15 stitches. I think you'll like the frilly look of this scarf.
