Product Details
Winter feels endless. It’s cold, and it’s dark, and even though the year has turned the lengthening days are barely perceptible. Trees are bare and cold and hard - just twigs and branches.
And then, one day, you notice a softening in the branches, a gentle halo of green in the twigs. Spring’s returning, and new growth promising light and warmth to come.
This shawl celebrates the return of spring. It’s a crescent-shaped shawl, and plays with the very different textures of two yarns. Start with silk, a little bit of texture, and a twiggy pattern. Switch to a fluffy mohair for the border, with a gentle lace section that blossoms from the twigs.
Yarn details
Yarn A: 100gr/ 400 metres of a 4-ply yarn.
Yarn B: 50gr/ 400 metres of a light and fluffy lace-weight yarn.
You want a contrast in texture between the two yarns. Look for something strong and lustrous for yarn A - a silk or silk-blend yarn is perfect, but tencel or mercerised cotton could also work well. For yarb B, the fluffier the better!
