Product Details
This is my favourite headband to make as it uses the Catherine Wheel stitch to create an elegant accessory that can easily go from day to night-time. This stitch is typically created with multiple colours, but I love the elegant, lacey design created from using a single colour. However, you can use a single colour, or get creative with a combination of colours.
I first made this headband in deep tones like red and royal blue, but for Spring and Summer I am using lighter colours like blush and cream, as pictured.
The headband is done in rows, and then we join the two short sides with what I am calling a ‘Z’ join, which creates the gorgeous twist.
I will be making the adult size, but I have included a sizing chart for making other sizes. If you do want to make a smaller or larger size, just use the chart to measure your starting chain, and the CH needs to be a multiple of 8 + 1.
This headband works up quickly and uses approximately 105 yards of DK Weight 3 yarn.
