The Ua Shawl has to be one of my favorite designs to date. It features many of my favorite design elements: top-down construction, crescent shaping, textured slip stitch pattern, and an intricate lace stitch pattern for the main motif. But what is new about this design, which makes it stand out from the rest, is the inclusion of the short-row lace technique (developed by Sylvia Bo of Softsweater Knits*).*
This technique is not only fun to work with, but the final results are spectacular. It gives the shawl dynamic, fluid movement, and elegant, sophisticated grace. As I design patterns, I think to myself: is the final project going to be wearable, and am I going to want to wear it? This shawl gets a resounding YES from me. And I hope you feel the same way too!
**This pattern has been both tech edited, and test knit to ensure a more enjoyable knitting experience. **Access to HD images, video, and written tutorials included.
