This design was born from my frustration. I absolutely love knitting socks, but historically I have never enjoyed knitting them toe up. The reasons for this are plentiful, from the techniques used to create them, to the final fit of the socks. But the question has always remained - could I create a design with the perfect toe, cuff and heel that was also a joy to knit ? Was it possible to design a heel that actually fit well ?
The answer is yes ! The Umbrella Socks is a toe up sock pattern that flies off the needles and fits like a dream. The heel is created using the true afterthought method, and fits wonderfully. After years of trying, finally I have a toe up recipe I love. So grab your needles and get knitting !
