Product Details
Like his fellow members of the Arts and Crafts Movement William De Morgan used abstracted flower designs in his ceramics rather than trying to create a true to life copy. Certain flowers featured more often than others, with carnations, roses and daisies possibly amongst his favourite floral design themes. This motif is based on a tile design called Moffatt which were produced at William’s Merton Abbey Factory. This motif is made by creating layers of crochet petals and leaves. Making them in a production line way, where you make all four at the same time and repeat the rounds on all pieces. This will help you remember the pattern and ensure your motifs come out the same size.
