Product Details
Vaquita is the second pattern in the Summer of Sea Creatures 2020. This year we are highlighting endangered species. Please join us in knitting and raising awareness about these animals. Tag me @yarnigans or #summerofseacreatures on instagram. Thanks for joining me again for this fifth year of summer of sea creatures!
The Vaquita is knitted from the tip of its nose to its tail in one piece, and then the fins are knitted separately and sewn on. You will need to be able to knit in the round to make the vaquita, as well as be able to do simple increases and decreases. I used a heavy weight worsted yarn and size US 3/3.25mm needles to make my Vaquita. Gauge is not extremely important here, but you do want to knit a fairly tight fabric, as the Vaquita needs to be stuffed firmly to keep its tail shape.
