Who’s ready to cell block tango? Velma takes her inspiration from the musical Chicago, named after Catherine Zeta Jones’ character Velma. The cell block tango number is probably one of my favorite musical pieces from the film, and Dye for Ewe’s Fright Night colorway captures the dramatic contrasts of blacks and reds in the iconic scene perfectly!
Worked in the round, Velma contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using.
The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer.
