I live in an older neighborhood called, funnily enough, Sherwood Forest. As you can imagine, trees are the dominate landscaping. My backyard has several huge, old Water Oaks that drop what feels like millions of acorns every year. The lace motifs on this hat remind me of the acorns that cover my yard. While the acorns look complex, they are actually created simply with yarn overs and standard decreases.
