Give someone you love a Wedgie!
This hexagonal baby blanket using Tunisian simple stitch and short rows playfully explores the color wheel – but don’t be afraid to try other combinations, too. The blanket features a picot edging that is worked as you go and an unusual method of seaming that avoids a visible join on the right side of the fabric.
For a larger blanket, either start with more stitches or use a larger weight of yarn and a correspondingly larger hook. (A larger blanket will, of course, require more yarn.) Also, please consider buying additional yarn in each color to avoid running short: in my sample, the orange wedge used more than one skein.
Pictured blanket uses the following colors of Koigu KPM: 1000 bright blue (A), 1 skein; 2132 bright green (B), 1 skein; 2100 bright yellow (C), 1 skein; 2200 bright orange (D), 2 skeins; 1100 red (E), 1 skein; 1400 bright purple (F), 1 skein; 2400 black (G), 1 skein.
Blanket can easily be made larger, as shown in the adult-sized Wedgie I gave my young nephew, Tom, which used two skeins each of three colors of Cascade 220 (worsted weight) and one skein of cream.
