Product Details

Wharariki Beach Mitts feature a decorative flap that is knit flat using short rows. It shapes the upper part of the hand and defines the thumb hole when folded over. Choose any gradient yarn or go for your favourite solid colour, with or without contrasting accents and picot edgings.

Skills required: Knitting and purling flat and in the round, casting on (using the cable or knitted method) and binding off, increasing stitches and working short rows. The pattern includes descriptions and links to online tutorials for working increases, short rows and picots.

Finished Size and Ease: The mitts are worn with negative ease and designed to fit a wrist with 15–16.5 cm (6–6.5’’) circumference. Take the time to check your gauge and measurements – you may want to adjust needle size and yarn weight to achieve a comfortable fit.

Multi-colour versions: Optional variations for adding a contrasting colour (or two) are given in the pattern.
