Product Details

The Wheatsheaf Aran Socks can be knitted at a loose or tighter gauge/tension and feature ribbing on the cuff, back of the leg, heel flap and sole to ensure a nice fit for many foot sizes. The socks are made for lounging, wearing around the house instead of slippers and relaxing. They’re an attractive sock for lazy days and nights by the fire. The cuff is ribbed (K2, P2) and has a good stretch to it. The socks are worked cuff-down ending at the toes which are grafted with Kitchener stitch. I worked my socks using circular needles and magic loop, but you can use dpns if you wish. Please use only one needle for the instep section of the sock which features the cable pattern, as the cables are centered on the design and you won’t be able to work them easily if they are spread across two dpns. Updated 12/01/2021 to add two missing abbreviations and correct a minor typo. No changes to detail or instructions.
