What do you do with leftover yarn? Accessories, such as hats are an obvious answer! After making the Bitterroot and Hedgerow Cardigans, I had more than a full skein of each color left over, and decided to create two versions of a hat that would coordinate with the Bitterroot Cardigan. Worked in the round from the bottom up, cables are combined with seed stitch to create these variations on a theme. If you want to make Hat 2 using only one skein (the gold version), just work a ribbed brim of 2” (5 cm) and don’t fold it up.
Hat 1: 15 1/2" / 39.5 cm circumference above brim. 117 yds / 107 m. Shown in Dusty Rose #10197, 1 skein.
Hat 2: 19" / 48.5 cm circumference above brim. 181 yds / 166 m. Shown in Pomelo #10200, 2 skeins.
