When I started to work on this design I wanted to create something special for the hotter months. Something to give a twist to a linen dress or something different to wear with a tank top. Wild Primrose is a bolero made with soft baby yak lace used double. It’s cut pretty short being a bolero, but you can decide to keep working the body motif until you arrive at your desired length. It’s designed to be worn open in the front, but it can easily close with a nice brooch or with wooden buttons. Wild Primrose is worked from the top down using circular needles and raglan increases. The sleeves are put on hold while you work the body. When you pick up the stitches to make the sleeves you can decide to leave them wide (like a kimono sleeve) or to make them puffy (this means making some decrease). The stitches used in this pattern are quite simple: knit, purl and a bit of very simple lace using yarn overs.
