Product Details
Using one or two skeins of yarn, this shawlette pattern is given in two sizes - the small one for the person wanting a piece to dress up any outfit, and the large one for the person wanting to make a statement. Stitches are cast on for the bottom edge, then after working a couple rows of garter, begin working the pattern with short-rows. Each short-row turns at the next RS purl stitch so you don’t have to guess if a yarn over can be worked with a decrease, or vice versa. After completing the short-rows, three rows of garter are worked at the top edge, then work is bound off firmly to make sure the top edge is given a crescent shape. This piece will look great in just about any solid or semi-solid color. If using a hand painted colorway, make sure the colors are subtle for best visibility of the lace pattern.
This pattern was originally designed for Unwound yarn shop in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
